I Am Thankful

Today I thought I'd write a little blog post about the things I am thankful for as it's thanksgivings today!  Although I am not American and don't celebrate thanksgiving, I thought it may be nice just to reflect on things that I wouldn't normally on a day-to-day-basis. Enjoy!

I am thankful for my family. The most important something one could ever ask for is a family and I am so thankful that I have such a loving, supportive and caring family who I can look towards for anything. Without my family I would not be the strong and independent person I am today, each of them has taught me different things and I have taught them also.

I am thankful for my friends. Every single person that I consider as a friend creates a part of me. I love my friends to pieces and I'm so thankful that I have a whole bunch of loving and hilarious friends who fill me with happiness every day. Without them, surviving school and parts of my life would have been a huge struggle.

I am thankful for an education. Having an education is something that a lot of people look past and moan about getting up for school, but there are millions who aren't able to have education due to various reasons therefore that's why I'm thankful that I can get an eduction. I'm thankful that there are teachers who inspire and enlighten me and build me into a independent, kind and strong human who someday will have to enter reality where I won't have a teacher teaching the correct answer, instead I'll have to use the knowledge of what I've learnt at school.

I am thankful for food and water. This is such a basic need and the fact that there are millions in the world that don't have enough/any food or clean water makes me realise how lucky I am to just be able to turn on the tap and see clean water running or opening to fridge to find a wide selection of different foods to eat. So, I'm thankful for all the food and the clean water that I take advantage for.

I am thankful for my experiences. In my sixteen years of living I have been able to see and take part in so many amazing things which are normally once in a lifetime, for example, swimming with dolphins and performing at the O2 arena with my school choir. I have learnt so much about the world through experiences, even if it is just looking at a board of how to protect the sea but every little thing I've seen or taken part in has built me into a girl who isn't afraid to step out my comfort zone.

What are you thankful for?

Love Hannah
