A Very British Outing At Waddesdon Manor

Big manor houses, with acres of beautiful gardens and Georgian architectural features is quite the love of mine. I do adore them, so going to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire was one to tick off  of the list, and with the added afternoon tea, it was a very British day out. Inside was even more beautiful than the outside. Every room you entered, everywhere you looked interesting, intricate features created a very warm and spellbinding atmosphere. Plus, the information guides were incredibly helpful, giving little secrets away about certain focal features or the tapestries.

Besides the fact it rained during the first half of my visit, luckily it brightened up when we came out of the house and got the chance to wander around the garden. The beautiful contrasting orange and red flowers worked well with the golden bricking of the house. The water feature in the middle of the garden was a truly wonderful touch. If it was that little bit warmer, siting outside in the gardens with an ice-cream would've been perfect! It really did feel like you were in a scene from a Disney film, or a very patriotic BBC drama!

Afternoon tea was really the icing on the cake. With scones Mary Berry would love, little tarts full of flavour and cucumber tiny sandwiches, it really added to the British feel.

Sleek Matte Me Review - 'Birthday Suit'

When it comes to lip glosses or lipsticks, I am more of a matte girl. With the likes of Kylie Jenner influencing the rise of matte lipsticks, I have grown to really really like them. However, finding the perfect matte lip colour that not only is durable, pigmented and non-drying on the lips was a lot harder than anticipated...until I stumbled upon Sleek's Matte Lip glosses. I was instantly sold.

I am more of a 'nudey' lip kinda girl, so the shade 'Birthday Suit' was very fitting. But with the 6 other shades, it was a bit difficult! With the name 'Birthday Suit' it was obvious to me that this was going to be a nude colour, and I was correct. I immediately put this in my basket with excitement to try it out.

It's incredibly easy to apply and is very much a one coat product as it goes on, and mattifies, very opaque but that doesn't mean you can't be build the colour - I like to go for 2 coats. I love the way it looks afterwards, the colour is a perfect nude and the matte after-look is a very stand out look.

Something that did worry me was whether or not this lip product would dry out my lips, as this is something that matte lip products are known to do but as long as I put on a lot of lip balm before applying the product it leaves my lips feeling fine throughout the day, and I do suffer from dry lips, especially in winter.

Overall, I am super impressed with this product. For £5.99 it really is such a bargain, baring in mind how brilliant the colour, duration and general look of the product is. So, if you're looking for a drugstore matte lipgloss, this range is the one for you.

A Week In Deia, Mallorca

If you follow any of my social media accounts you will have known that I took a trip to Deia in Mallorca for a week.

Deia is a pretty village on the west coast of Mallorca. With high temperatures, spectacular views and a lot of greenery, it was the most lovely location to spend a very special holiday to celebrate my mothers and brothers birthdays.

Making it even more special was the incredible, indescribable hotel that we stayed in called La Residencia. This hotel is part of a group of the leading hotels in the world and it definitely exceeded all of my expectations. Plus, adventures such as swimming in the sea with the fishes and flying around the island in a helicopter made the week even more incredible.

The photos below are, hopefully, an insight into how I spent my week and although the photo doesn't do the amazing views justice, I hope you can appreciate my amazing holiday.
