A Step Back In Time...

Last weekend my family and I spent our time up in Richmond, a town in North Yorkshire. On the Saturday we decided to take a little trip to Beamish Village which is a Victorian/Edwardian-esque village; it is literally like stepping onto some-sort of amazing set for an old-fashioned film, or stepping into the past. I'm such a nerd when it comes to History, so this village out was right up my street (no pun intended).

Mothers Day

To celebrate Mother's Day, my family and I went out for a lovely meal over at a very traditional yet still modern called The Bull. The pub specialises in steak, however there is a nice selection of vegetarian options for someone like me! The whole atmosphere was so warm and cosy, not something you'd expect in spring, I can imagine it being even more lovely at Christmas.

I had some plain mozzarella garlic bread for starters, a lovely pea and asparagus risotto for main and a Creme Brûlée for pudding...and I must've been too excited to eat that as there isn't a picture to show you!

Normally, if I was going out for a pub meal I'd go quite casual and comfortable but because this was a special occasion I wanted to wear a few pieces that I purchased the other day from Misguided. I opted for these statement floral trousers; these are so appropriate for spring: pastel, floral and thin material but still warm enough. I decided to throw on a plain white turtle neck top. As the trousers were quite bold, I wanted to leave that as being the focus point so you can't really go wrong with a plain white crop top, plus I love turtle necks!

Even though it look very warm out, I had to wear a jacket over the top so I wore a white jacket from Zara with gem detailing on the colour and quarter length sleeves. I adore this jacket, it's so incredibly elegant and pretty; I'm so glad it's now spring so I can start wearing this more often!

(I would've taken more prettier outfit shots, however it was raining and quite frankly my mum and I didn't exactly want to be standing outside in the pouring rain!)

For shoes I decided to go for a pair white croc heeled sandals. I adore these shoes, they're so comfortable and the added silver detail at the top and bottom adds a very interesting detailing which complements the silver gems on the jacket. To match the croc pattern of the shoes, I went for a croc bag with gold chain detailing. This bag is amazing, enough said!

Whatever you did for Mother's Day, I hope you had a lovely sunday and spent it with loved ones.

Favourite Rimmel Lipsticks

I've always been a great lover of Rimmel London, I think I bought my first ever mascara and foundation from the brand when I first started wearing make up. 3 years on and I'm still using (and loving) the same, old products!

My number 1 top 'section' from Rimmel is their lipsticks. I will always go straight to their lipsticks if I'm looking for a new shade or replacing an old one. I love them because they 1) last for such a long time, 2) are very pigmented and 3) the texture is so lovely.. not too sticky or thick.

On this light Saturday afternoon, I want to share with you my favourite top 3 Rimmel lipsticks at the moment; ranging from light to dark.

#1 - 206 Nude Pink
I never use to think pink lipsticks suited me, however after finding this one I completely changed my mind. This is such a pretty light pink/peachy shade with a hint of shimmer. Such a lovely day lipstick for spring.

#2 - 22 Kate Moss
I'm a fan of a classic red lip, and this Kate Moss one is amazing. It's your classic red shade, very bright and deep but it has a hint of orange to it which makes it less 'christmasy' and more spring/summery.

#3 - 08 Kate Moss
This is such a lovely nude colour, perfect for a day-to-day spring look, however what I really love about this, is that it's quite glossy so it doesn't just look like your average nude lipstick...a nice little twist I think.

Pinterest Inspiration #1 - The Camel Trend

Two things I love in todays post...Pinterest and the colour camel! I've been loving both of these two things, so today I thought I'd put together a collection of camel outfits that I found of Pinterest that I am O B S E S S E D with.

Camel is such an on-trend colour at the moment, and it definitely is a favourite of mine. I love how neutral and easy to style the colour is, it literally goes with pretty much every other colour, so it seems almost daft not to have a camel piece in your wardrobe.

I love all of these outfits, they're all so different but the splash of camel in each outfit almost completes it and makes it that little bit interesting. All outfits are also so spring appropriate, which is obviously a bonus because spring is very nearly upon us. I especially love the mint coat with the camel skirt. Who would've thought that this pastel colour would be complemented so lovely by the camel skirt?!

I can tell already that I'll be purchasing a lot of camel items to add to my wardrobe for spring, it' such a lovely subtle colour suitable for anyone!

Are you a fan of camel?
