I Am Thankful

Today I thought I'd write a little blog post about the things I am thankful for as it's thanksgivings today!  Although I am not American and don't celebrate thanksgiving, I thought it may be nice just to reflect on things that I wouldn't normally on a day-to-day-basis. Enjoy!

I am thankful for my family. The most important something one could ever ask for is a family and I am so thankful that I have such a loving, supportive and caring family who I can look towards for anything. Without my family I would not be the strong and independent person I am today, each of them has taught me different things and I have taught them also.

I am thankful for my friends. Every single person that I consider as a friend creates a part of me. I love my friends to pieces and I'm so thankful that I have a whole bunch of loving and hilarious friends who fill me with happiness every day. Without them, surviving school and parts of my life would have been a huge struggle.

I am thankful for an education. Having an education is something that a lot of people look past and moan about getting up for school, but there are millions who aren't able to have education due to various reasons therefore that's why I'm thankful that I can get an eduction. I'm thankful that there are teachers who inspire and enlighten me and build me into a independent, kind and strong human who someday will have to enter reality where I won't have a teacher teaching the correct answer, instead I'll have to use the knowledge of what I've learnt at school.

I am thankful for food and water. This is such a basic need and the fact that there are millions in the world that don't have enough/any food or clean water makes me realise how lucky I am to just be able to turn on the tap and see clean water running or opening to fridge to find a wide selection of different foods to eat. So, I'm thankful for all the food and the clean water that I take advantage for.

I am thankful for my experiences. In my sixteen years of living I have been able to see and take part in so many amazing things which are normally once in a lifetime, for example, swimming with dolphins and performing at the O2 arena with my school choir. I have learnt so much about the world through experiences, even if it is just looking at a board of how to protect the sea but every little thing I've seen or taken part in has built me into a girl who isn't afraid to step out my comfort zone.

What are you thankful for?

An ASOS Wishlist

ASOS have been on of my favourite places to shop over the last couple of months due to their autumn and winter collection being right up my street.

I decided to put together a small 'wishlist' of all the clothes and accessories that I'm loving (a good 10/10) at the moment. I won't go into a huge amount of detail on why I love each piece as I think this post would turn out to be more like a 40 mark essay! Instead, I'll briefly discuss why I'm loving these items as a collection.

Black High Heels - £45
Cable Knit Jumper with Turtle Neck in Khaki - £42
Mustard Peg Trousers - £48
Grey Oversized V Neck Jumper - £45
Black Zip Chelsea Boots - £68
Black Floppy Hat with Velvet Band - £20
Culotte Shorts in Floral - £16
Ripped Black Skinny Jeans - £35
Rose Faux Fur Gilet - £42

A lot of the pieces on my wishlist are rather basic - the jumpers and cardigans etc however something that is really brave for me on this wislist are the rather interesting choice of bottoms. Both the autumnal print culotte shorts and mustard peg leg trousers are definitely items that I wouldn't have even stopped to look at before as I'm quite boring when it comes to trousers/jeans, however the print on the shorts are so beautiful and seasonal which can be either dressed up or dressed down; likewise with the trousers, the colour is so different to anything that I've seen before and you can opt for a nice pair of chelsea boots and a black turtle neck jumper for a everyday look or a pair of strappy heels with a sparkly cami and you're good to go out for the evening.

I was really interested in the black boots. The reason why they're on my wishlist is because I've wanted to get a pair of just plain black boots however I wanted to stir away from the typical chelsea boot so I found an alternative which I think is a nice little take on the chelsea boot. The tip down the side replaces the classic stretchy side part (not sure what the pr
oper term for this is haha!) which is unique and adds more texture and that little bit of glam due to the gold zip.

I already have a burgundy floppy hat, so this winter I really want a plain black one just so that it could with anything - a little bit more practical. When I saw this one from ASOS I really liked it, the velvet trim adds more texture to an otherwise plain black hat.

I love making wishlists as it gives me something to work towards as a reward or treat and it also stops me from buying things that really I don't need or want as much as something else. So, some of these items I definitely will be purchasing to add a bit more variety to my wardrobes and create more outfits to chose from for different occasions!

I do hope you enjoyed my ASOS wishlist and thank you for taking the time to read.

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

I was recently tagged by wonderful the Hollie (check out her blog here!!) to complete her questions for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. So if you're reading this Hollie then thank you and I'm delighted that you chose me to answer you questions!

Here are the rules:
1) Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog
2) Include the award logo in your blog post
3)Answer the set of 10 questions provided
4)Supply your own set of questions
5)Nominate 10 other bloggers

Hollie's questions:

1) What is your favourite blog and who is your favourite blogger?
My favourite blog is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog called thisoutlet.co.uk. I love the posts, layout, writing and photography. My favourite blogger is either Becca Rose (I've spoken about her before haha!) or Helen Anderson.

2) How do your promote your blog and what is the most effective way to do so?I promote my blog through twitter as I think it's the most easiest and effective way to do so due to everyone being able to see it and communicate with you.

3) If you could be someone else for the day, who would you be and why?

I'd love to be the Queen for a day! I'm so curious as to what she does everyday and whether she puts her feet up, watches Coronation Street or I'm a Celeb in her pjs with a hot choc!

4) What inspired you to come up with the name of your blog?
Nothing really inspired me to come up with the name of my blog if I'm honest. I've always loved the idea of writing letters so I guess if I'd write a letter I'd probably end it with 'Love Hannah xoxo' or something along the lines of that and I guess each blog post is like a little letter to the people who are reading them. I also think 'Love Hannah xoxo' is just a nice way to end a blog post haha!

5) What is your favourite perfume, lipstick and nail polish
It'd be VERY difficult for me to pick an all time favourite perfume, lipstick and nail polish but at the moment I'm loving Gucci's Flora - even though it's quite a summery scent, it's still a really girly, pretty perfume so I've carried on using it! My favourite lipstick at the moment is Rimmel London's coffee shimmer - it stays put all day, the colour is so lovely for this time for the year and the slight shimmer in it makes it appropriate for the party season! My favourite nail polish at the moment is No7's Damson Dream - it's a really pretty burgundy colour with a hint of sparkle.

6) High heels, you wear heels, what is your preferred choice of height?
The taller the better! I'm only 5'4 so wearing a nice pair of very high heels makes my legs look longer and heightens my confidence (excuse the pun).

7) What is your favourite music at the moment?
At the moment I'm currently loving London Grammar, especially the song 'Strong'.

8)What is your favourite tv shows?
Too many to pick from! My top five are probably American Horror Story, Made In Chelsea, America's Next Top Model, The Apprentice and Skins (a classic).

9) Which is more important to you, your twitter account or your Blog?
Such a good question. I'd probably have to say my Blog because it's a space for me to just share my thoughts and feelings freely.

10) Who would you most want to meet if givin the chance and why?
I would absolutely love to meet Tom Hanks or Johnny Depp. They're my favourite actors ever and I'd love to sit down and have a chat with them about life! I'd probably fan girl for the rest of my life.

My questions:
1) Why did you start blogging?
2) As christmas is very soon, what do you love the most about the running up to Christmas?
3) What is your staple fashion piece for Winter?
4) A beauty product you couldn't live without?
5) Favourite actor/actress?
6) Who is your inspiration? Why?
7) If you could stay any age for the rest of your life, what age would it be and why?
8) What is your main goal in life?
9) What is the reason behind your blog name?
10) Who is your favourite blogger/youtuber?

Once again thank you for so much to Hollie for nominating me!

A Vintage Fair | Afternoon Treat

On Saturday, my mum and I popped out to a vintage fair in a nearby town. We've been to this fair a couple of times before and although it's not massive & normally only an hours trip, it's something that I've always been willing to go to. I'm a massive vintage freak so these sort of afternoon outings are my cups of tea. Not only the items from these fairs are amazing, but also the atmosphere and people are; everything and everyone is so lovely and makes the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Every time I've gone to this fair I've always had to take a few things home with me because some things are too precious or just too damn cute to leave behind. So, on Saturday I picked up a couple of lovely bits and bobs - an exquisite treat (which only came to a total of £7!)

50s Fashion Book - £2

Tweed Jacket - £5

Vintage fairs, car boot sales, charity shops are amazing places; you walk into one and are instantly bombard with character and personality. I know it isn't everyones idea of heaven (I know I was a bit sceptical about my first charity shop visit as I thought it was a bit of a grandma shop filled only with grandma clothes, which is an awful stereotype haha!) but honestly, you can pick up so many great bargins and unique pieces if you look hard enough, and it really is something that I recommend as (even if you do walk out thinking it was a waste of time looking at 'old junk') you may be pleasantly surprised.

Current Fashion Inspirations

When it comes to choosing an outfit or purchasing items, I'm not one of those girls who scroll through endless pictures of a certain person or flicks through fashion magazines to get inspiration because I always like to dress the way I want to dress without getting influenced by other people. However recently, that has all changed. Although I haven't been spending hours and hours getting inspiration and changing my whole wardrobe, I have been loving and slightly copying a few outfits from a couple of ladies who I want to share with you today.

My first current fashion inspiration is Louise Thompson who is a reality tv star on 'Made In Chelsea'. I absolutely adore this reality show and in this season in particular, I have been really into Louise's outfits. She always seems to make everything she wears look so effortless yet really stylish which in my opinion can be very hard to do. I love how she pairs really cute and edgy things together to create an interesting but still very sophisticated and feminine look. In on of the most recent episodes she was wearing a simple cream turtle neck knitted jumper with some leather trousers and I instantly fell in love with this outfit the minute I saw it on screen, it looked so casual but still stylish due to the edgy black trousers combined with the light, feminine jumper - I definitely will be trying out this outfit soon!
So whether she's all glammed up for a night out or just staying in, her outfits are always on point and this is why I wish I had a big more £ to steal every look of hers!! Or at least try to look as good as her...

I adore this outfit - the simple cross patterned dress with plain chunky heels is then completely
lifted and glammed up with the interesting patterned dark plum bag and an autumnal lip - a lovely outfit for an evening out.

My second current fashion inspiration is Becca Rose. I've watched Becca's Youtube and read her Blog for such a long time now and I get so excited whenever she posts a ootd, lookbook or haul because her clothes and style is to die for! I love the way she mixes 60s style with a modern taste and how she plays around with different textures. Everything Becca wears always seems to look perfect, so put together and sophisticated. I'm really loving her shoe and trouser choices at the moment because Becca pairs cigarette style trousers with a pointed heel boot which I think can be either dressed up or dressed down, creating lovely go to outfits for Autumn/Winter. Furthermore, a lot of her clothes she shows off on her Instagram, Blog, Youtube etc are all high street shops meaning it's incredibly easy to steal her styles as they are affordable!!
So, this why she is one of my current fashion inspirations - her flawless and chic yet affordable outfits always interest me and forever long to have her wardrobe!
You must have a look at her blog here and her Youtube here

I hope you enjoyed reading my current fashion inspirations!
Who are yours?

Being Ill | What I Do When I'm Off School

I rarely ever get ill, but if I do then it's normally pretty bad, making it almost impossible for me to get out of bed which for some may seem like a dream but I get pretty bored and (like most people) I hate being ill!

Over the last couple of days I have been pretty ill and so today I thought I'd share with you what I do when I have to stay off school. Enjoy! *cough*

1) Catching up on any notes I've missed/homework
Quite a boring first activity but it has to be done! Staying off school, especially when studying a levels, is pretty bad luck when you have tons of notes and homework to catch up on. But I can't just laze around all day (although I would like to) so I tend to lie on my bed with a warm drink besides me and start writing.

2)Watching netflix
Netflix has become quite the obsession of mine so I've really enjoyed just curling up in bed in my onesie and watching a classic film or a series. At the moment I've been loving American Horror Story...so you can guess that that's what I've been watching non-stop whilst being ill.

3)Relaxing
This is quite an obvious thing to do whilst ill, or just having a lazy day, but I think it's so important to relax whilst you're feeling ill or down as it can totally lift your mood and help your mind and soul settle. Relaxing is so broad and you can do anything from reading a book, having a bath or going out for a walk however I really find that listening to calming music helps me when I'm poorly - I think the peacefulness of it stops me from worrying about work I'm missing or wondering about when I'm going to feel okay again. I'd definitely recommend Lewis Watson or Birdy for some calming music.

4)Sleeping
Honestly, this is what I do probably 90% of the time that I'm off ill because it pasts the time and the last thing I want is to feel tired and ill at the same time! Sleeping is also 'natures call' meaning a lot of the time, after you've rested you feel a lot better.

5)Internet shopping
I am SO guilty of this but what more is going to make you feel better than spending a little money on something? Like they say, there's nothing wrong with a little retail therapy to cheer you up...and that's exactly what I do! Even if I don't want to spend money, I like to browse various shops (ASOS and New Look have some really good AW things at the moment!) and add them to my wish-list for a later day.

Thanks for reading!

The Introduction

This is all rather odd for me. Normally I'd be sitting at my computer struggling to write an essay, researching context for a play or downloading past paper after past paper ... Although saying that, I don't spend all my time doing school work.

Maybe I should start with a 'hello, I'm Hannah!' and 'welcome to Love Hannah xoxo'.

I'm currently an a-level student studying history, psychology, drama and philosophy and ethics at a school which I have passed through for 6 years. Outside of those doors I have a huge interest in fashion, music, musicals, beauty and just exploring new places or revisiting old ones. This is why I've created this blog, to share these interests, enjoy myself, create a new hobby and to keep memories, adventures or just bog standard hauls with me for as long as I live (deep).

I'm excited to start blogging, it seems like everything I buy/do/think about should be in a blog post or shared through pictures...not because I think it's worthy for everyone to see, but because in 10 years time I probably won't have the pictures, thoughts, feelings from a certain situation or place.

Anyway, what will you find here? Well.... I'm hoping to do mostly blog posts in regards to fashion aka hauls, ootds, favourites etc etc but I also want to do lifestyle posts - random little visits to a cafe or a long weekend away. I have a passion for both of these subjects; fashion because experimenting with clothes and dressing up but also dressing down is such fun (well I think so anyway) and lifestyle because these are the blog posts I love to read the most (I love seeing where people have  gone and add it to my list of 'things to do when I'm in....'). However, you'll be sure to find other random posts like beauty, monthly favourites, essentials, tags etc.

I really hope you enjoyed this little introduction and make sure to stick around to see more of me! Here's to something new.

Love Hannah
