A Very British Outing At Waddesdon Manor

Big manor houses, with acres of beautiful gardens and Georgian architectural features is quite the love of mine. I do adore them, so going to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire was one to tick off  of the list, and with the added afternoon tea, it was a very British day out. Inside was even more beautiful than the outside. Every room you entered, everywhere you looked interesting, intricate features created a very warm and spellbinding atmosphere. Plus, the information guides were incredibly helpful, giving little secrets away about certain focal features or the tapestries.

Besides the fact it rained during the first half of my visit, luckily it brightened up when we came out of the house and got the chance to wander around the garden. The beautiful contrasting orange and red flowers worked well with the golden bricking of the house. The water feature in the middle of the garden was a truly wonderful touch. If it was that little bit warmer, siting outside in the gardens with an ice-cream would've been perfect! It really did feel like you were in a scene from a Disney film, or a very patriotic BBC drama!

Afternoon tea was really the icing on the cake. With scones Mary Berry would love, little tarts full of flavour and cucumber tiny sandwiches, it really added to the British feel.

Love Hannah
